Bottlecraft North Park is a bottle shop created in an existing building in the burgeoning neighborhood of North Park in San Diego. obrARCHITECTURE designed the entire space including the custom concrete sales counter, custom Baltic birch sales shelving, specialty lighting and finishes. obr worked with local fabricators to turn used beer kegs into pendant light fixtures to highlight the sales area. A small kitchen was added in the rear of the space and has become JUKE, serving locally sourced creative food for take out.
Bottlecraft Little Italy is the second bottle shop obrARCHITECTURE created for owner, Brian Jensen, in a new mixed-use development in Little Italy. obrARCHITECTURE designed the interior around a centrally located coldbox and tasting mezzanine. A floor to ceiling palette wall gives glimpses of patrons heading to and from the mezzanine. A new baltic birch bar-top wraps around the coldbox and new sectional roll-up doors adorn the front facade. The design also includes a sidewalk cafe enclosed with steel railings.
Bottlecraft Sorrento Valley is obrARCHITECTURE’s third collaboration with owner Brian Jensen. Each project has been designed to its unique location and this time around is no different. obrARCHITECTURE designed the interior with copper glass tiles wrapped around a dark cold box giving an abstract feeling of an old brewery. The bar lined with copper glass tiles draws attention from outside through the floor to ceiling glass exterior façades. Natural light spilling into the space highlights the copper tones and the bar is immediately the focal point surrounded by Bottlecraft’s signature baltic birch bar-top and merchandise shelving. A new roll-up door on the Northeast façade opens the space to a large outdoor patio allowing patrons to enjoy themselves while surrounded by the lush hills of Penasquitos Creek.
