Current renderings and plans are conceptual at this time. Daniel Boone Elementary school is currently home to 440 K-5 students and located in San Diego. The entire campus is currently undergoing a whole site modernization mandated by Proposition S and Z and Measure YY. The site modernization will include general site improvements, including hardscape and landscape areas, parking and circulation , utilities, building systems, an admin addition as well as updates to interior and exterior finishes.
Areas of focus include reprogramming the admin building and providing an addition to adequately meet the district’s design guidelines. The project also removes existing portable classrooms to create a more secure and private location for the kindergarten area, while also expanding the west parking lot. Traffic studies and reworking the existing traffic flow at the main intersection near the school are being looked at to create a more functional entry sequence along with redesigning the main campus entrance to create a more defined entry portal for the students.
