Daniel Boone Elementary School, located in San Diego and serving 440 K–5 students, completed a comprehensive whole-site modernization in 2024, funded by Propositions S and Z and Measure YY.

The modernization included wide-ranging campus upgrades such as new hardscape and landscape areas, improved parking and circulation, upgraded utilities and building systems, an administration building addition, and refreshed interior and exterior finishes.

Key design improvements included reprogramming and expanding the administration building to align with district design guidelines, removing outdated portable classrooms to create a secure and dedicated kindergarten area, and expanding the west parking lot. Traffic studies informed a redesigned circulation plan and improvements to the main intersection near the school, resulting in a safer and more functional entry sequence. The project also reimagined the primary campus entrance, creating a defined and welcoming portal for students, staff, and the community.
